Do Warn M8000 winches all have brakes?

0

Hi all, Just pulled my Warn M8000 winch apart and it does not appear to have a brake. Serial number: 200450 Date code: GA1 Haven’t stripped the gearbox yet. Just did the motor and it was all very nice and clean. Some rust but very minor. Inside the cable drum it just has a long hexagonal bar which joins the motor to the gearbox. I know it has been apart before as the previous owner of the Disco said he bought it 2nd hand and had it serviced as it was cheaper than just buying a new one. This is how it all fits together. The motor output goes into the black end bit. This is the fitting in the end of the gearbox you can see. It looks like it is where the brake would be. The part of the cable drum it is in is very greasy. This is the end of the above part. Has a circlip. Anyone know what it is before I take it apart and it springs into 198734 pieces?
