No. The entire concept of Voodoo (which is actually Vodou, if you’re referring to dolls) comes from a Haitian/African religion. The dolls were nothing more than conceptual, ceremonial objects. They were made as effigies of whatever person, thing or beast that the individual praying was referring to in their prayer, which was to spirits, not necessarily a god. Also, not all voodoo dolls were meant for pain or to harm. Many of the ceremonies include dolls for different purposes. Healing. Leading a departed soul to the underworld. As thanksgiving. If you leave Hollywood and Warner Brothers up to their own devices, they will take damned near anything and completely ruin it so they can present it to the public as entertainment. One of the major fallacies of organized religion, as well. If religion didn’t leave so many openings, the entertainment industry would have nothing to prey upon.
