Do visually impaired people play with the dogs in a different type of way?

We don’t want our dogs to ever jump up on visually impaired people or get unruly in any way. But tug is a great game. We issue toys to all our dogs when they go home with their new owners. We give Kongs and Nylabones to them — chewing is very therapeutic for dogs. It’s a great stress release. When the dogs are training here, we want them be happy, so we have community runs twice a day, and we have playtime — with 50 dogs playing together! We even have a Toy Day, where we give them lots of stuffed toys to carry around and play with. Do you have a pet dog of your own, Stephanie? Yes. My dog is a border collie. He’s my best friend. I’ll always have a dog. Can we take Cody for a walk? I want to watch you train him. I am going to report on his progress. Sure. (She puts a harness on Cody. He is immediately attentive, ready to work. She issues a command, and Cody sets off at a brisk pace down the hallway.) Wow, he’s walking fast. Do all the dogs walk this fast? No, this is just Cody’s natur
