i think it does because when children play those games that think that its cool and they try to be like the people on the violent games thinking they will get away with it but it will just hurt them in the future

I think they contribute to a more violent and asocial nature.

It is not a case of yes or no but how much. It is also not a simple direct causative. We can correlate that SOME people who play violent video games will be violent people, but there are many factors to consider. Does the VG cause a violent person or is an already violent person attracted to a violent VG? You might also ask whether a violent VG is an outlet that redirects violent tendencies to a safe environment. There are no causal relationships here, only correlations. The simple answer is “We don’t know”. On a personal note, my younger son would happily play games in which he flame-throws, machine-guns, runs over in a truck and otherwise maims, mutilates and kills people, but there is no way that he would hurt a real person. It is obviously not in him.

Depends on how the children are being raised. If the parents step in and explain to the children that it is just a game, I would think that it would less likely have a bad impact on the child. I am a 24 year old gamer. I have a 5 year old daughter and a finacee that also games. Our gaming time is very limitied due to work, school, raising our daughter and other responsibilities but when we do play. Our daughter could be sitting right next to us. She know’s that it is just a game. She is a sweet girl and not violent at all. Heck, she even plays sometimes!

Im a 14 yr old girl, and i have played a few 18+ pc games in my time. Usually im very nice and would never hurt a fly, but i admit, after playing an hour of one of those games i get a little more pissed with the people around me and i even result in hitting them (only my big sister, i wouldn’t hit my friends). It never goes as far as the game, which could involve killing other people, but just a tiny bit more violent. I don’t play those games anymore because of that, they also sometimes give me nightmares and make me feel depressed. But these games im talking about are like the really violent ones, action games like shooting or sword fights are fine. One example of a bad game is ‘Madhunt’, google it. Some games can be racist too. I read an article the other day about those type of games, and once this boy agreed to meet up with two other boys, thinking they were a girl, but in the end the boy gets beaten to death. The two boys who killed him with a hammer said they wanted to act out a
