Do videogames and reading increase youq iq and brain power?
I think to some extent both can and do, but at different levels of IQ. Reading always increases your brain potential and education as long as you are continually reading at higher levels and of things you have not previously acknowledged. I grew up with mario which obviously does not require the brain power of Halo 3. My brother on the other hand lives and breaths games of higher mature levels. He has far surpassed a normal/average IQ and educational level. However, he also reads on a daily basis. So that leaves me to think, did the intelligence push him into intelligent gaming, or did the fact that he has been playing games since he was 2 cause him his brain to open to new levels of intelligence. His intelligence is definately different than that of mine and of our parents. I don’t mean that he has a higher IQ, just that his brain thinks with a new approach that I don’t think existed to frequently in humans’ past.
