Do vet techs deal with euthanasia?
Yes, techs do need to deal with euthanasia. They usually don’t do the actual injection but they do often assist and then take care of the body after. Techs do a wide variety of things…helping with exams, assisting in surgery, monitoring animals post surgery, making appointments, dealing with clients as well as pets, sometimes giving injections, cleanin up after the animals, putting up meds prescribed by the vet, doing lab work, assisting with x-rays & ultrasounds and many other things. I’ve been a tech for 36 years and most of the time i love it. Sometimes it is sad and sometimes you must deal with rude, difficult clients. You also need to learn how to safely work around all different breeds, temepraments, etc of dogs, cats, etc…
