Do various types of physical activity affect breast cancer risk differently?
It appears that the total amount of physical activity is more important than the type of activity for breast cancer risk reduction. Studies have examined physical activity at work, leisure physical activity, and total physical activity. Lower breast cancer risk has been reported for all these types of physical activity. Nonetheless, studies of total physical activity have been most consistent in demonstrating an association with lower breast cancer risk.
