Do vampires get AIDS?
The Vampire Mythos has evolved and been redefined with every generation and, although the idea of a creature who can live forever by drinking the blood of the living is an almost world wide phenomenon, what we understand to be vampires is far different from earlier generations. The stage version of Bram Stoker s novel was the first time that vampires were thought to be anything else than nasty,mouldy creatures who crawled out of their graves at night, but in later years,particulalry with Bela Lugosi’s inspired(if a bit corny)incarnation of the creature was the accepted idea. Later,when Hammer films picked up the franchise and turned the vampire myth on it’s ears,fully dealing with the sexual inferances from the earlier work and certainly with Anne Rice’s Vampire Chronicles, The Vampire is almost like a rock star and it depends largely on what going at the moment, what you can imagine what vampire’s are and are not vulnerable to.
