Do vaccines cause autoimmune disease?
Unknown. There is some theoretical and epidemiological evidence that they do, but there have been no scientific studies completed. For example, there has been an alarming increase in childhood asthma in the U.S. over past 25 years, coinciding with an increase in vaccination. Some officials believe that it is better not to raise the issue or study the matter, because people might be unduly alarmed.
