Do u think the internet helps society as far as homosexual acceptance or doesn help?
I think that the Internet helps societies accept homosexuality, but there are other media happening at the same time which are also helping (movies, newspapers, television, magazines, etc.), so it’s virtually impossible to be sure how any one thing is impacting societies. I can give you an idea of what it was like before 1969, before gay liberation started changing everything, before the Internet was invented. I started searching for information about homosexuality back in 1960, but I couldn’t find much. There was a virtual blackout everywhere. I remember only one magazine article in a popular magazine during the early 1960’s and it focused on only the negative stuff. Likewise, what I was able to find in public libraries wasn’t very helpful to a struggling teenager. But since 1969, all that has changed.
