Do u know how Muslims greet each other?
Assalam Alaikoum. Actually, No holy book is supposed to have been changed into another language and read that way. In Quran, we have to memorize it in Arabic, but we may translate it but not learn it in the translated language. Jews are the same. I don’t know exactly if they have to memorize it, but the Zabor/Torah was released in Hebrew, as the Quran was in Arabic. The Bible is the only different one. The Bible was originally released in Hebrew!! The words from God!! Try were changed over the years and translated. They kept it that way. They didn’t change it back into Hebrew! They kept it in English! All Christians are supposed to know Hebrew in order to read their holy book!! Jews and Muslims already got it covered! Tahnk you fir reading! And if ur a Christian reading this, please go out and learn some Hebrew!!
Yes – I have a Muslim penpal and she always greets me with Salaaaaaaam! Not an Arab though – she is from Iran, and has a special set of curses reserved for Arabs! Maybe Muslims use this greeting even though Islam can sometimes be a war-like religion, especially in a state of Jihad, because this is what is preferred and wanted, and are wise even at the height of war never to forget that? As a Christian whose preferred Bible is in English translated through French, I must say that much of the New Testament was written in Greek, and the Hebrew texts vary with the class of the author – a rough fisherman is not likely to speak as finely as a Temple scholar. I admire Muslims for their ability to read their Holy Book from scriptures in their original language. My grandfather, who was a Christian clergyman could do likewise, and was fluent in all the languages of the Bible. I accept the limitations of my mother tongue, so that the Word of God may be subject to unavoidable errors of translation
