Do Transport Operators give any special discounts?
Travel by train: The County Council has negotiated a season ticket discount scheme with Southern Railway for West Sussex students attending sixth forms, sixth form colleges and colleges of further education. The discount covers tickets valid for one month or longer and can be used anywhere on the Southern network (although travel to London terminals is excluded). Discount of up to 34% is available subject to a minimum weekly rate of £8. Season tickets must be purchased through a special Southern Railway website. To purchase tickets, students need a Sussex Student Card which has a unique number. The student must carry this identity photocard when using the season ticket. To apply for a card, students will require a passport size photo. The application form is available from schools, colleges, most railway stations and is downloadable from this site, see below.
