Do tournament casts count toward pole leveling?

Catches or ‘steals’ (e.g.”A 4 inch Loafy Fish swam by and ate my chum”) do count towards pole leveling as per normal. Any misses however (e.g. “Didn’t catch anything 11 casts left today.”) do NOT count towards increasing your pole level unless Red Love Chum or Free Love Chum is used.
