Do those Christians who accept the fact of evolution understand why some atheists?

For most of my life, I thought that this whole thing about evolution was settled at the Scopes Trial in 1925. I believe in God, but I don’t want to be around those people who think the Earth was created 6,000 years ago. Some of us who believe in a supreme being have no problem with accepting science, logic, rational thought and evolution. By me, God could have created the Big Bang, the evolutionary process, life on other planets, the physical laws of the universe, other dimensions and all that other good stuff. If I was willing to have it be more important, I might be willing to get upset about this issue, but I think it’s mostly silly. It would be nice if all of us could get over this one, but I don’t expect it to go away any time soon. Best wishes!
