Yes I went to one 3 months ago. The scheme was called Gateway to Work. It kicks in after 6 months of being unemployed. If you don’t go on it, it can affect your jobseekers allowance. It is like a remedial jobseeking class and based on the presumption you haven’t been jobseeking (not that there aren’t enough jobs). We had to listen to someone from Progress to Work explain the help they can give to those on illegal drugs for getting into work. It was mainly 18-20 year olds who would be employed in heavy industry had Britain not exported or automated most of those jobs. The success rate is probably quite low.
