Do They Make Hair Bands Out of Used Condoms in China? Tuesday September 30, 2008 Demonstrating how leery even the Chinese can be of products manufactured in their own country, stories published last year in China Daily and other newspapers reported that vendors in Guangdong province were caught selling cut-rate hair bands made from used condoms. That’s right, used condoms. What no one seems able to explain, however, is how they managed to collect a big enough pile of those nasty old prophylactics to make such an enterprise feasible.
