Do they have hurricanes in Puerto Vallarta?
This is a tough one to answer. For a long time people assumed that Puerto Vallarta would not be hit by a hurricane due to its protective barrier, the Sierra Madres. After being virtually hurricane free for years, Puerto Vallarta had a near hit from Hurricane Kenna on October 25th, 2002. While neither the Hurricane nor the eye of the storm actually ever entered the Bay of Banderas, the susbsequent damage done by the storm surge and waves have made people change their “never have hurricanes” stories.
