Do the things Joel Osteen says line up with the scriptures?
He borrows from scripture but preaches a happy message that is woefully inadequate to prepare the church to endure persecution. God’s people will have persecution as promised throughout the Bible. Osteen’s message neatly edits that out and trains his hearers to only be nice and feel positive about life. Christianity is much more than merely learning polite behavior! Osteen on the Larry King show REFUSED to state plainly that there is salvation through none other than Jesus the Christ. Instead, he equivocated and said that whatever the religion that loves “god” they too may be saved. He is WEAK on standing for the gospel truth of Jesus Christ as THE God-appointed atonement for the sin of humanity. Osteen is more concerned with human harmony, than eternal salvation. Osteen’s salvation prayer is too short and does not lead anyone into repentance for sin. Repentance for sin is significant to receiving Christ, because His death was for the forgiveness of the sin for which we repent! Osteen
