Do the tenants have to be credit checked by TenantDeposit.com before using the Zero Deposit Scheme?
No! TenantDeposit.com relies on the landlord to check the identity and suitability of their tenants. However, you must be able to provide copies of their references and due diligence documents when making a claim. We highly recommend that landlords use a referencing agency before entering into any tenancy agreement. If the referencing agency recommends a guarantor one must be secured before the tenancy agreement is signed. The landlord or agent must also obtain the following from the tenant before using our service: The landlord or agent must supply one document from group one and one document from group two plus a recent* full bank statement for all tenants. Group 1 Valid Passport Full UK Drivers Licence Group 2 Recent* payslip showing NI No. and employer address Letter of acceptance into full time Higher Education *recent, being issued in the last 2 months.
