Do the Silverlon® Wound Dressings stain the skin creating a tattooing effect?
Ionic silver does not stain dermal tissues. The only silver that is released from Silverlon® Wound Dressings is ionic silver. Tattooing and staining of the skin is a result of the deposition of metallic silver particles or silver salts in the dermis. No cases of Silverlon® causing tattooing of the dermis has been reported.
