Do the saved/archived tracks have the same information as the tracklog?

Yes. Unlike older Garmin GPSs the saved/archived trackpoints contain the same information as in the original tracklog (ie. coordinates, time, elevation). Saved/archived tracks also have the same number of trackpoints as the original tracklog.
