You certainly could have taken it to the RSPCA but I suspect that they wouldn’t waste time and expensive resources treating it, it would be put to sleep straight away, things like Squirrels if treated can’t be re released as they are considered to be vermin, better to put a wild animal to sleep than keep it in a cage for the rest of it’s life.
