Do the profits of Value Village go to charity ?

0

Hi, I work for Value Village, and the profits do not go to charity however millions of dollars per year are given to non-profit charities in the U.S., Canada, and Australia. Here’s how it works: Value Village (or Savers if you live outside the Pacific Northwest or Canada) has contractual agreements with local non-profit partners. These non-profits are paid a set price per pound for any clothing delivered to a Value Village store. Please note that Value Village pays for ALL the product delivered to them but per average only puts several items per 20-30 received on the sales floor. Our non-profits benefit from this relationship because most of them do not have the ability or finances to open their own thrift store (or thrift store chain) like Goodwill or The Salvation Army. Before I started working here, I thought that Value Village was actually stealing business/donations from charities and now I’m proud to work for a company that helps so many people in need. We are proud of what we do
