Do the plants really grow faster than potted plants?
Except for the lavender, I have found all other plants that I have grown in my AeroGarden to grow much faster than soil grown plants. Does the AeroGarden make noise? Sometimes. The AeroGarden sounds a little bit like fish tank pump. As I have mentioned, I have the older pump, so the pumps on the new models may be a bit quieter. Either way, the sound is not intrusive and, for me, has a calming effect. Are the lamps bright? Yes! This is one of the reasons why I do not keep my AeroGarden in the bedroom. Are the plants grown organically? Yes. However, you may need to use a pesticide (AeroGrow offers its own natural pesticide at their website) if aphids or other bugs decide to invade your AeroGarden. I have never had any problems with bugs in my AeroGarden, however. Can you use your own seeds? Some Aero-growers do use their own seeds, however I just stick with the AeroGrow brand of seeds, which come in a ready-to-use pod.
