Do the photographs that a person takes, represent some sort of psychological profile?

My mother was a bright, colorful person. She was a multi-award winning photographer. She traveled the world, and instead of photographing buildings of scenery, she photographed people, close up. Many of those people warmed to her and let her take their picture even though they didn’t speak English. When I was coming out of my first big depression I photopraphed in black and white, in a railroad yard, under bridges, staircases, industrial scenes, angular strong images–all suggesting change and strength. I didn’t photograph people at that time because I needed to focus on and learn from myself. Now I take a lot of snapshots of my dogs. I’ve done several portraits of my husband, and Walter, my friend. I agree, an absence of people in one’s photos might indicate social anxiety.
