do the parallels between Jesus and the egyptian god Horus bother you at all?
Oh boy. I think some of my fellow Christians ought to research Horus fully before saying that he has anything in common with Jesus. In truth, the two of them only have three things in common: 1. A miraculous birth. (Though Jesus was actually born of a virgin, according to the Bible, and Horus was the son of a god [Osiris] and goddess [Isis]. Isis was not a virgin, and the only thing “miraculous” about Horus’ birth is that Osiris was dead when he fathered Horus.) 2. Royal lineage, though Horus’ is more direct. 3. Ability to perform miracles (though Horus was never able to walk on water, cast out demons, or raise the dead). The problem with using religioustolerance.org as a source is that their sources are wholly undependable. They use Acharya S., who is not an Egyptologist, who used Gerald Massey, who is also not an Egyptologist. Egyptologists do not see parallels between Horus and Jesus, other than the three I mentioned.
