Do the old pay bands correspond to the new pay grades? For example, if I was on Pay Band B of the old system, will I now be on Pay Grade 2 of the new system?
No. The old pay bands and the new pay grades do not line up. In the old system many employees were in Pay Bands D, E, and F. In the new system, depending on the benchmark matches of these employees, they may be matched to several different Pay Grades (e.g., some will go to Pay Grade 3, some will go to Pay Grade 4, some will go to Pay Grade 5, etc.). The old and new job evaluation systems are different, as are their pay scales.
