A. The new application templates were designed to highlight improvements in the Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 platform and should be installed on a Version 3.0 deployment. The new templates will not install correctly on a Windows SharePoint Services 2.0 site and as such, this scenario is neither supported nor recommended.
