Do the muslims becoming modern day jew in most of the european country?
Not quite the same, but similar to an extent. In medieval times, replacement theology was in vogue. Christians believed that because the Jewish hierarchy had initiated the crucifixion of Jesus they were now damned by God and the Christian church would replace the Jewish people. Jews maintained a distinctive lifestyle and tended not to integrate. Jewishness comes from ancestry, they have no choice even if they do not practise. There was also an element of financial jealousy as Jews were generally good with money and tended to be financially dominant wherever they lived. Since the 1939-45 war & Holocaust in Germany, Judaism has been a lot quieter and Jewish people themselves much more integrated in all the societies in which they live. They still practise their faith, but most people couldn’t tell a Jew from a non-Jew, so there is no longer the degree of antagonism that once existed. Also within the dominant Christian faith, it is now recognised that the Jewish people were chosen by God
