Do the materials cover the Transport Canada syllabus?
Yes. Generally, the workbooks arrange the topics in the precise order given in the Transport Canada syllabus. In some cases, to improve the flow of the text, sections are re-arranged slightly but all topics are still covered. Additional information, not explicitly required by the syllabus, is often added to augment the Transport Canada topics. This occurs, for example, in the Theory of Flight workbook where some basic physics is covered before the forces acting on an aircraft are described. In general, every topic is covered in much greater depth than is required to pass the Transport Canada written examination—the aim of Farmhall Aviation Training is to help students become knowledgeable pilots as well as pass the written examination. Many of the worked examples in the text are more sophisticated than would be required for the written examination but these are clearly annotated and can be skipped by students if necessary.
