These alphabets can then be converted into kanji characters which sort of look like little pictures. When Japanese is written using a computer or word processor, all of the letters/characters lokk sharp and clear. Like with English, there are a tons of different fonts you can choose from and each has their own special characteristics. When Japanese people write by hand, it all depends on the person doing the writing. Some people write in a very fluid, almost cursive style. Most of the letters/characters blend together and look like handwriting. Other people write in a very clear and concise style like you see in a newspaper or on a document made by a computer.
