A9. Yes, beginning in FY06, both new and returning teachers are highly recommended to receive six hours of professional development each year. In FY07, this will become a requirement. New teachers must complete new teacher orientation which may be counted towards their six hour minimum requirement. Returning teachers must complete six hours each year.
