Do the Friends of Lebanon Schools support the Board’s plan for a middle school?
Yes. The Friends of Lebanon Schools are hopeful that voters will approve the building of a 5th-8th Grade Middle School on the district-owned Rte 4 site. We believe that the best way to help people see the merits of the plan is to get complete and accurate information out to the public. If there are problems with, or unanswered questions about, the plan, we want to hear those, too. Our goal is to encourage a full and civil discussion of options, advantages, disadvantages, and consequences so that voters will be fully informed when they cast their vote on this important issue. As a team whose members have closely followed the evolution of the last few school proposals, and who have sought opportunities to listen to the many varying perspectives of Lebanon citizens, we are excited about this project and feel it truly addresses the most immediate needs of our community while providing a compelling vision for childhood education in Lebanon.
