Yes, all plastic components are Teflon impregnated for smooth operation, wear resistance, and longevity, and have built in UV protection. All extruded aluminum components are 35% heavier then competitive models and come with an extremely durable, baked on, Powder Coat finish. These units are designed and built to endure the harsh Texas elements. The product was developed in Florida, where in addition to the bright sunlight, these units also had to stand up to the rigors of salt water corrosion. A number of these retractable screens have been installed on Boats, where exposure to the sun and elements is even greater than the typical Central Texas home.
