Do the FAS surveys include export prices from other origins besides the EU?
As previously mentioned the surveys attempt to take into account prices from other origins such as Eastern Europe. In certain instances we have price information on a delivered or C&F basis. To derive an equivalent EU export price we deduct the estimated freight from the delivery point to the EU port to calculate an equivalent FOB price. For example, if New Zealand is reported to have sold 1 ton of NDM to Mexico priced at $2,000/ton C&F an equivalent FOB North European port price would be around $1,900/ton to $1,925/ton.
