Do the CLE credit hours have to be in particular areas?
If you are an attorney who has been admitted to the New York State bar for more than two years, you need 4 hours of ethics credits every two years. If you are a newly-admitted attorney, the requirements are much more specific: of the 16 hours to be completed in each of your first two years, 6 hours must be in Ethics and Professionalism; 6 hours must be in the category of Skills; and 7 hours must be in the categories of Practice Management and Professional Practice.
