Do the camps have running water?
There’s no city water at Fourpeaks backcountry camps. And no electricity (except for Thoreau House) to operate pumps to get water from our wells. Water supply is limited. Each camp has its own water supply and hand pump location. Pump type and distance from living accommodation varies from camp to camp. Sugar and Gypsy Camps have pitcher pumps right at the kitchen sink. Thoreau has tap water just like home. New Camp, Ridge Camp and The Cabin get water from the nearby Well House. Running water from a plumbed-in storage tank is available as an option at The Cabin, Sugar Camp, New Camp and Ridge Camp (additional fee). Water for Wolf’s Nest is brought in containers by jeep.
