Do the Broadway theatres serve alcohol during or before the musical?
You will generally find a refreshments counter in the lobby of any Broadway theater. It will be open 30-60 minutes before the play begins, and during intermission. Might possibly also be open for a while after the play ends, but that is far less likely. The items for sale will include both soft drinks and hard liquor, plus some snack foods. The liquor will likely include wine, beer, and some mixed drinks. You will not be permitted to bring any beverages or foods into the actual theater. The only exception is for small off-Broadway revues, that are set up as cabarets and allow you to purchase and consume refreshments throughout the production.
