Do the Boy Scouts of America Grand Canyon Council continue to receive funds from United Way?
The Boy Scouts of America, Grand Canyon Council does not receive undesignated funds through United Way’s Community’s Impact Fund because they did not apply for funding for their troop programs through the most recent Request for Proposal process. There are several local nonprofit organizations that either select not to apply for funding from the Community Care Fund application process or are not selected for funding during the local volunteer Community Allocations Committee process. However, United Way’s Board of Directors does believe that the Boy Scouts of America, Grand Canyon Council provides a variety of programs that enrich the lives of our community’s youth. Therefore, donors may designate their contributions to Boy Scouts of America, Grand Canyon Council, or any other local Yuma nonprofit organization should they choose to do so.
