Do the American people want socialism?
No. The majority of Americans don’t want socialism, but they do want better health care and better use of tax dollars. Some outsiders interpret this as socialism but we’re really very far away from that. It depends who you ask, though. People on the extreme right would say we’re on the verge of socialism right now. People on the extreme left would say we’re nowhere close and have a long, hard way to get there. In truth, it’s somewhere in the middle, but likely closer to the left’s stance. I say this because socialism in its purest form is pretty involved, and to drop everything and adopt a very radical way of life just isn’t on the horizon. Better health care, and better use of our tax dollars is not the same thing.
