Do Teacher Assistants still have to meet their annual college unit requirements if they have 60 semester units?
Yes. In addition to the NCLB requirements, Teacher Assistants must meet their annual college unit requirements as a condition of continued employment. For example, Degree-Track Teacher Assistants (Class Code 0953) and Non-Degree Track Converted to Degree Track Teacher Assistants (0955), in addition to meeting the NCLB requirements, must also complete 12 semester units per year (July 1 to June 30).
