Do sunglasses help prevent AMD?
There has been some research that suggests that AMD may be associated with a history of high exposure to sunlight and that sunlight may speed up the degeneration process. The findings of these researches are not conclusive. However, people at risk of AMD, such as those with a family history of AMD, may want to use dark sunglasses that filter out blue and ultraviolet light in bright sunlight.
