Do StudentVoice assessment projects go through the Institutional Review Board (IRB)/Human Subjects Review Committee process?
IRB policies vary from campus to campus and we encourage you to check with the IRB office (or comparable entity) on your campus. When assessment results are being used for internal improvement, IRB approval is not typically required. In instances when the data is being shared with external audiences, such as during a benchmarking project, IRB approval is strongly encouraged and may be required. StudentVoice Assessment Consultants can assist with developing your IRB protocol.
