More than half of the people surveyd (10/17) say they write down the same amount or more notes based on what the lecturer is saying in Classroom2000 than outside of it. Of that population 80% of the people do write down some of what the lecturer is saying or more. This indicates that indeed, people still do take notes inside the Classroom2000…. So how do students take notes? When people take notes, more than half of them (12/17) say that some or all of their notes are their own interpretations of what is going on in class. And again more than half of the reponses (10/17) say that they do not like having to write down everything because it is either tedious or distracting. These two points combine to indicate that what they’d like to be able to do is only write down what they think is important; and in the meantime they can spend the most amount of time and effort focusing their attention to the actual lecture.
