Do students need to bring their own computer setup?
If you participate in the Pacific Residence Sun Ray Program, your internet connection will be dedicated to support your Sun Ray device. It is not necessary for you to bring your own computer. The Pacific Residence Sun Ray Program is an option for students who wish to utilize these computing resources in the comfort of their residence hall room. Some students may choose to bring their own computer. In this case, you would not sign up to participate in this program. Sun Ray devices will be made available in some Residence Hall study areas. This program is for students that would like to have their own Sun Ray device in their room instead of their own personal computer. Can this system be utilized the same as if it were my own system? Sun Rays do not have a hard drive or any storage. All files will be saved on the University’s Sun Ray Enterprise servers. Students will not be able to install their own software on their Sun Ray.
