Do students have to study some fixed set of subjects or they can individually form their curriculum?
There are certain required subjects all students must take when studying for a degree, which are usually taken in the first two years. Also there are required core subjects you will be expected to take to complete your major. You will have the opportunity to also choose a list of electives. There are some smaller liberal arts colleges such as Juniata College in Pennsylvania that allow you to build your own cirriculum.
