Depends on your definition of being intimate and of being straight. I think about straight and gay to be about who you love. You can be intimate with someone who you don’t love. You don’t have to love your friends (as a partner) but you can have fun with them. Whether having fun is watching football or fukking around. Generally people would describe having sex with the same sex as being homosexual behaviour. It is usually, but not necessarily always, done by homosexual people. I did, however, find a piece of research suggesting that 10% of men or gay, 10% straight and the remainder 80% bisexual. Being homosexual, bisexual or heterosexual is often thought as being a spectrum. For example, one bisexual person could be almost totally straight and another bisexual person almost totally gay. However, you shouldn’t try labelling too much. Be yourself and be happy. But be safe, too. If you feel that your friends are open enough, you could try getting closer with them.
