Personally, I don’t believe in stereotypes in this context. In this context a stereotype is just a reflection of the person making the judgement and not the person the stereotype is aimed at. In this context it’s just another word for prejudices. Anybody and anything can change at any time. Stereotypes such as: School runs mainly consist of SUV’s, Council estates are overrun with crime, English people are mainly white, African people are mainly black etc are just fact’s of life at this moment in time and of course any of these stereotypes can change over time. Thinking of something that is no longer stereotypical of what it used to be: From the 80’s early 90’s business people were called yuppies and they all carried filofaxes. This is definitely not stereotypical now! Very Good question by the way.
