Do “soul mates” really exist?

(END wikipedia article excerpt) This passage articulates, quite well, my own thoughts on whether or not soul mates exist. I believe that soul mates can exist per the first paragraph. However, I do not believe (see paragraphs 2 and 3) in fated soul
Of course they exist. You will know when it happens to you. The thing with soulmate/twin flame is that it is spiritual. This person has a profound effect on you. It’s a feeling like this person should be in your life. Soulmates can inflict great pain or great joy in you. The joy comes from being able to share a relationship with them. The pain comes from being apart from them or when they choose to not reciprocate your feelings. I have had this experience two times. The first encounter was very dissappointing and the second one was quite joyful. You can have more than one soulmate. When it comes to the soulmate/twin flame situation, you’ll be really attracted to this person and drawn to them magnetically. Your feelings for them will naturally grow stronger and very intense.
