Do skin care treatments hurt?
The most uncomfortable part of any skin care treatment is the extraction portion (which is when we remove the debris from a clogged pore/blackhead/acne.) For most people – me included – it feels the most sensitive around the nose which unfortunately is where many of us need extractions the most. You may always reserve the right to say “no more” or “let’s take a break” but usually it’s not too bad and it’s worth the discomfort. Chemical peels sound much worse than they are because of the combination of the words “chemical” and “peel” but really they are at worst a bit warm and tingly and sometimes they have a slight sting which only lasts for a few moments (I call them stingly.) Most of the skin care treatment, however, feels amazingly good and we make up for the discomfort with some nice massage moves. As far as microdermabrasion and hydrafacials go – I’ve never heard of anyone yet who didn’t find them enjoyable.
